Katin's Ronan is a rugby shirt first and a polo second. Heavyweight cotton jersey gives it real substance, and the canvas collar holds its shape instead of going soft after a few washes. Long sleeves with ribbed cuffs and a straight hem keep the lines clean, and the navy vintage wash means it already looks lived in. Katin has been making this kind of thing in Southern California since 1954, and it shows.
When to wear this:
- Cool fall mornings on the course, when a short sleeve polo is not enough
- Tailgates and bonfires that start in the afternoon and run into a cold evening
- Weekend errands and coffee runs where a tee feels too casual
- Casual Fridays and client lunches that still need a collar
How to style:
- Straight leg denim with leather sneakers or boots
- Chinos and loafers when the day calls for a little more
- Layer a vest or an unlined jacket over it once the temperature drops
- Leave the placket buttoned and let the natural canvas collar do the work
